  1. Introduction

The website business4extroversion.gr (hereinafter referred to as the “Website” or the “Platform”) operates within the framework of the project “Intermunicipal Actions to Support the Internationalisation of Businesses in Western Athens”, implemented by the Development Association of Western Athens (ASDA).

This Cookie Policy provides information about the use of cookies and similar technologies when visiting and using the Platform, the purposes for which they are used, and the options available to visitors and users for managing them.

The Platform uses cookies that are necessary for its proper and secure operation. The use of non-essential cookies, where applicable, is subject to the user’s prior consent, in accordance with applicable legislation.

  1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on a user’s device, such as a computer, mobile phone or tablet, when visiting a website.

Cookies enable, among other things, the operation of essential website features, the maintenance of an active login session, the storage of certain preferences and, where applicable, the collection of statistical information about website usage.

Cookies do not, by themselves, provide access to files or other information stored on the user’s device.

  1. Categories of Cookies

Depending on their purpose and the functions they support, cookies are classified into the following categories:

3.1. Strictly Necessary Cookies

Strictly necessary cookies are essential for the basic operation and security of the Platform, as well as for providing services explicitly requested by the user.

They may be used to manage login sessions, enable secure access to user accounts, maintain essential technical settings and protect against unauthorised activities.

The use of strictly necessary cookies does not require prior consent, provided that the relevant legal requirements are met.

3.2. Functional Cookies

Functional cookies are used to remember users’ choices and preferences in order to facilitate navigation and improve the user experience.

Such preferences may include, for example, the selected display language or other settings related to the use of the Platform.

Where these cookies are not strictly necessary for providing a service explicitly requested by the user, they are activated only after the user has given consent.

3.3. Analytics Cookies

Analytics cookies, where used, enable the collection of information about website traffic and how visitors interact with the Platform.

This information may be used to assess website performance, improve navigation and enhance the content and services provided.

Non-essential analytics cookies are installed only after the user has provided prior consent.

3.4. Third-Party Cookies

Certain features of the Platform may use services provided by third parties, which may place cookies or use similar technologies.

The use of such technologies is governed by the purpose of the relevant service, applicable legislation and the user’s consent preferences, where consent is required.

Information about any third-party cookies, including the identity of the provider and their retention period, is included in the Platform’s detailed cookie list.

  1. Cookie Storage Duration

Depending on their storage duration, cookies are classified as follows:

Session Cookies: These are stored for the duration of the user’s visit and are generally deleted when the web browser is closed.

Persistent Cookies: These remain stored on the user’s device for a predefined period or until they are manually deleted.

The specific storage duration of each cookie depends on its purpose and is indicated in the detailed cookie list used by the Platform.

  1. Cookie Management and Consent

When visiting the Platform for the first time, users are informed about the use of cookies and can manage their preferences through a dedicated cookie consent management mechanism.

The mechanism provides the following options:

  • Accept All: Consent to the use of all cookie categories requiring consent.
  • Reject Non-Essential Cookies: Allow only strictly necessary cookies.
  • Cookie Settings: Select or reject individual categories of non-essential cookies.

Non-essential cookies are not activated before the required consent has been obtained.

Consent is freely given, specific and unambiguous, and may be withdrawn at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before its withdrawal.

Users may modify their preferences at any time through the “Cookie Settings” function available on the Platform.

Rejecting non-essential cookies does not prevent access to the Platform’s essential content and services.

  1. Cookies Used by the Platform

Information about the cookies used by the Platform, their providers, purposes, categories and storage durations is provided through the detailed cookie list available via the cookie consent management mechanism.

The list is updated, where necessary, to reflect the technologies and services actually used by the Platform.

  1. Managing Cookies Through Your Browser

In addition to the options provided through the Platform, users may manage, restrict or delete cookies through their web browser settings.

The process for managing cookies varies depending on the browser and device used.

Please note that disabling strictly necessary cookies may affect the operation of certain services, such as logging into a user account or maintaining an active session.

  1. Personal Data Protection

To the extent that the use of cookies involves the processing of personal data, such processing is carried out in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679), Greek Law 4624/2019, Greek Law 3471/2006 and other applicable legislation.

The Development Association of Western Athens (ASDA) acts as the Data Controller.

Further information regarding the processing of personal data, the purposes of processing, data subjects’ rights and the procedures for exercising those rights is available in the Platform’s Privacy Policy.

  1. Amendments to the Cookie Policy

ASDA reserves the right to update this Cookie Policy, particularly in the event of changes to the Platform’s functionality, the technologies used or the applicable legal framework.

The most recent version of this Policy will always be published on this page.
