Role of the dawa
The Project Implementing Entity is the Development Association of Western Athens (ASDA). According to its memorandum, the main objects of the Development Association of Western Athens (ASDA) are:

Promotion and exploration of inter-municipal cooperation

Promotion of the development and exploration of cooperation with governmental bodies and the coordination of the action of the bodies of the region
3
The spatial, urban and environmental regeneration of Western Athens
4
The fight against unemployment and the overall economic development of the area
5
Participation in trans-European networks of cities, etc.
6
Participation of West Athens in major European programmes and networks in the fields of Environment, Employment, Culture
Transport and Communications, New Technologies, Women's Entrepreneurship, the Roma, the returning emigrants Foreigners, etc.
To date the Development Association of Western Athens (ASDA) has implemented numerous projects of environmental, urban, social and cultural character, such as:
Protection from trespassers; Regeneration and promotion of the Poikilo Rocky Mountain
Protection and development of the Antonis Tritsis Park
Support for medium-sized enterprises
Structures and institutions to tackle unemployment
Development studies on the problems of the region
Special development programmes for the overall upgrading of the region
Training and employment programmes for the unemployed and other vulnerable groups
